Mr. Tang Hong

Development Ambassador

Mr. Tang Hong is currently the Chairman of the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies and the President of the Ghana-China Chamber of Commerce. He is also the chairman of the UESTC Alumni Association of West Africa.

In July 1994, under the initiative and organization of Mr. Zhu Yinian, and with the assistance of former Ambassador Zhang Dezheng, the ‘Ghana Chinese Chamber of Commerce’ was registered as the first chamber of commerce established by China in Ghana.

After 28 years of effort, the number of members has grown from a few dozen to nearly a hundred. The chamber members come from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. including state-owned enterprises, private companies, joint-stock companies, offices of Chinese institutions in Ghana and individual businesses.

The Ghana Chinese Chamber of Commerce has grown into the core organization of the Chinese community in Ghana, a large and influential association with significant appeal. The chamber makes every effort to assist the embassy and relevant Ghanaian government departments in public welfare activities, community networking events, the Chinese Emergency Relief Fund, education issues for the children of overseas Chinese, and handling sudden incidents involving the interests of overseas Chinese. This helps protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese nationals, bringing the Chinese community in Ghana closer together around the embassy and the chamber, and working together to promote the friendship between China and Ghana!

Tang Hong is the founder and executive chairman of the Caitec Group, one the largest and most successful businesses in the West African country of Ghana. The group currently has over 7 companies in various industries in Ghana, including general merchandise, mining, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate, and construction.
