The Society of Gynecologists – Obstetricians of Togo (SGOT), created by gynecology-obstetrics professionals in Togo, works in a field of intervention clearly defined by its statutes and carries an ambitious vision for the health of the nation.
The central area of intervention: The sexual and reproductive health of Togolese women
The SGOT’s main area of intervention is the promotion of gynecological and obstetrical practice in Togo, with the aim of improving the sexual and reproductive health of adolescent girls and women. This fundamental objective, stated in Article 4 of the statutes, encompasses a wide range of activities and concerns.

Strengthening Professional Fellowship: The SGOT strives to foster collaboration and mutual support among gynecologists and obstetricians in Togo . This professional cohesion is essential to guarantee quality care and harmonize practices.
Production and Dissemination of Scientific Knowledge: A major area of focus is the production and dissemination of cutting-edge scientific and medical information concerning gynecology, obstetrics, perinatology, and related disciplines such as human reproduction, family health, and contraception. The Deputy Secretary General is specifically responsible for these publications.
Facilitating Exchanges and Sharing Experiences: The SGOT aims to create platforms for exchanging knowledge and experiences among different practitioners . These interactions contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical practices.

Making Scientific Knowledge Available to the Public: SGOT’s mission is to transfer scientific advances to the population and the country in order to improve their overall health. To this end, it may organize seminars, public conferences, and radio and television broadcasts. Mobile consultations and outreach services may also be organized during congresses.
